Museum of Stolen Art

The Museum of Stolen Art will be located in Panauti and was supposed to be open on December 31, 2016( But after devastating earthquake on 2015 the project is shifted for 3 years).  The museum will display replicas made by skilled artists of 50 of Nepal’s most beautiful sculptures, which over the years have been stolen and are now held in museums and private collections around the world.  The Museum of Stolen Art aims to make Nepalese more aware of their cultural heritage and to create pressure for the return of stolen cultural treasures.
